Pregnancy is a great time for a woman to reconnect with her body, to get in touch with what feels good for her and her baby.

Group classes at Austin Area Birthing Center South!

Every TUESDAY and THURSDAY, from 6:30PM - 7:30PM:

Drop-in: $17/class

4 class path: $60 (valid for 1 month)

Please bring water and your own yoga mat. Blocks and blankets will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing.
Please do not wear strong perfumes.

About your teacher

Hi, I'm happy to see you here! My name is Anya Casteel. I started my yoga journey when I went to India in 2015 to become a Hatha Yoga instructor. While living in an ashram for a month, meditating and practicing yoga all day long, I felt a strong calling to work with women. After that I went to China for a Prenatal Yoga teacher training. Since that trip working with pregnant women has been my passion. I started with yoga, and now I am a doula and a student midwife. Doula's work and studying midwifery help me to understand anatomy and physiology more, which makes my classes full of useful knowledge. I believe that regular yoga and meditation helped me a lot in my own pregnancy - so much so that I was able to give birth at home to a 10-pound baby boy without any complications. I also had a quick recovering and smooth postpartum period, which I attribute to tuning my mind and body before birth.


I believe that our body is designed perfectly to become pregnant and to have a natural birth. We just need to always remember to listen to ourselves, believe in ourselves, always stay present and... breathe!

About my classes

My class is gentle flow-style yoga, meaning that we connect breath and movement and flow through poses. Every class combines strengthening, stretching, toning, breathing and relaxation techniques to offer relief from the common discomforts of pregnancy (e.g., lower back pain, headaches, swelling in ankles).  Feeling better physically will also empower you in preparation for labor and birth. Through yoga, breath, meditation, and discussion you will develop confidence and nurture your inner wisdom to connect with your baby and enjoy this magical time.  Begin at any point of your pregnancy, no previous yoga experience is necessary.    


  • Promotes physical and emotional wellness
  • Yoga is a great stress-reducer
  • Learn to strengthen and relax your pelvic floor muscles, improve mobility
  • Align your pelvis. It can help babies achieve the optimal positioning which is very important and can reduce the length of labor and increase the comfort of the mother
  • Alleviate common discomforts during pregnancy: back pain, restless leg syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, hip tightness, nausea, swelling and fatigue
  • Prepares you physically and mentally for labor and delivery. The breathing exercises can be calming when it comes time to push the baby out. 
  • Improve ease of falling asleep. According to the ACOG, staying active helps moms mentally - increasing energy, mood and ability to sleep
  • Lower your blood pressure. Studies have shown that a pregnant women’s heart rate and blood pressure lowers after doing prenatal yoga

  • Stabilize your moods. Another study showed that yoga combined with meditation, deep relaxation and breathing exercises — significantly decreased levels of depression in moms

  • Embrace your intuition to make the best choices for you, your changing body and your baby and develop confidence in your birth preparation.

By learning to link your breath and movements in a constant flow, you’ll greatly increase your ability to work with your body during labor and childbirth, encouraging a faster and more enjoyable birth experience.





Want private yoga sessions in a comfort of your home?

I also offer customized prenatal yoga classes (in Austin, TX) . You pick the time and dates and I come to you for a full 60 minute class that is specific to your growing body's needs and your baby's. I also offer private group prenatal yoga classes (up to 4 women) at your home. Partners are welcome too - I will teach him/her how to support you, share the yoga experience and do some partnered work and basic massage.

You can choose one of the following options:

Private Yoga Class 

1 session $70

5 session package = $325 ($65/class)

10 session package = $600 ($60/class)

Private Group Yoga Class (2 to 4 women)

1 session $80

I accept either cash or Venmo payments. Pay at the time of the first class. Tips are welcome.

Classes are 75 minutes long.

24 Hour reschedule/cancellation policy applies.

Please have the necessary props for class - one yoga mat, one or two blocks, and one blanket.
